The recipient of this year's Yorkiefest funds was The Terry Shumsky Fanny Mae Liver Shunt Fund.   Please insist on having your dogs bile acid tested.   Liver Shunt is real and is a serious problem in our breed. Educate yourself and protect your dogs. Yorkiefest honors the memory of Terri Shumsky. Last year's proceeds were also donated to TSFMLSF. Yorkiefest was founded, organized and partially funded by Becky Kenlein, voluntarily, out of love for the Yorkshire Terrier breed.  Thanks to the few additional volunteers who gave unselfishly to help put on the best Yorkie festival in the US.   Yorkiefest was a wonderful event full of spirit and caring and we hope that spirit continues on in the hearts of Yorkie lovers everywhere. There is so much EACH of us can do to help. We hope to continue the spirit of the festival in our new hometown of Santa Barbara, California. We are searching for groups to support our efforts and will plan some great events if we get the help and support we need. We know we have made a difference and there is still work to be done.
