Toby & Elvis' Pajama Pawty

As Friday got here, everyone was so nervous and excited to see each other in my suite for Toby & Elvis' Pawty. We had talked about it for months, and finally it was here! The extra room in my suite at the Hamiltonian was quickly wall-to-wall Yorkies and wannabes. You literally could not walk through the room. When someone had to go get a drink or something, everyone had to move. Moms and dads had their jammies on and so did the babies. I saw fluffy houseslippers, crazy T-shirts, and lots of VERY comfortable people in flannel jammie pants. We DEFINITELY have to do the pajama pawty again next year...but maybe with a BIGGER room! People brought snacks and drinks and cherry bombs (don't ask) and lots of hugs. It really was wonderful to see some of these people I've known for so long but had never met. The overflow went into the bedroom part of my suite and that room was quickly full too. I put down potty pads all over beforehand, hoping we would avoid some accidents, and, honestly, all the babies behaved SO well. We are always amazed at these gatherings that the dogs seem to do just great and rarely fight or nip or have accidents. We are all so proud of them! Joe and Marsha were there from South Carolina, Bonnie from Canada, Toni from Virginia, Doreen from New Jersey, Jeanine, Jan and Sue from Michigan, and Tami, Jani, Janie, Cheri, Kathy and so many others from Ohio and Indiana and from all over. We laughed and had some drinks and watched Jeanine drink tequila, and we had a BALL. It was so nice to meet some of these people we didn't know and to see some of the ones we did and hug and laugh, it really was something special. People came in and out all night and we were all comparing this Yorkie and that Yorkie, ones we had seen time and time again in pictures and looked forward so to hugging and kissing in person. Everyone wanted to see little Elvis and Toby (I had heard that an Elvis kidnapping had been planned), and I wanted to see ALL of them! Marsha had so many I couldn't keep up, Taz was a doll, Jan's bunch of wannabe's were as adorable as they were mellow. There was Parker, P.I. (Private Investigator), Mickey, Murphy, Gidget, Jackson, the beautiful Kyrie, and so many others. I'm sure by the end of this, you'll know who each of them are. By the end of that night, all I could see were Yorkies, and what better way to drift off to sleep? It's amazing that so many Yorkies can be so different, and each and every one of them were, although they were also so much alike. Each Yorkie and wannabe were so beautiful and loved and a joy to be around. It was all that we had hoped for! But, the morning comes early and we were all so excited about the festival starting the next day, we broke up around midnight to get what rest we could before the BIG day!! I had so much fun and just enjoyed all of these folks who came from near and far to celebrate the Yorkshire Terrier with me and with the City of Hamilton.
