Yorkiefest II contributed $1000 of the Yorkiefest II funds to the Original Terri Shumsky Fanny Mae Liver Shunt Fund. Letter to Terri Shumsky dated 09/05/03. Dear Terri, Yorkiefest II, held Saturday, August 30, 2003 was a huge success and is able to provide a $1000 gift to the Original Terri Shumsky Fanny Mae Liver Shunt Fund to provide financial assistance to families of liver shunt victims who might otherwise have to give up their pets, or worse. A cashier's check in this amount was mailed to you in your name on Thursday, September 4, 2003. Yorkiefest is a huge undertaking and many people helped to make this year's festival so successful. This gift is given in the name of Yorkiefest II, myself and everyone who worked tirelessly to make this very unique and special event a success, We all admire the work you and your fund continue to do and support you in all your efforts. The festival funds this year have been able to completely pay off all our startup costs, contribute this generous gift to you, and have a decent amount put away for startup costs for next year's already growing Yorkiefest III. I will be posting this information on the Yorkiefest II website, and adding a copy of this letter. Since I am personally responsible only to the IRS and the State of Ohio, the Yorkiefest Committee has recommended that detailed accounting of income and expenditures should not be posted on the Internet until such time that Yorkiefest has non-profit status, which is under consideration for future festivals. Yorkiefest will continue to support education, awareness, fun and friendship, as well as any cause that helps animals, specifically our beloved Yorkshire Terrier.
